Despite the fact that the economy is showing signs of recovery the foreclosure numbers have gone up. Short sales are becoming popular. Last year foreclosures had been temporarily suspended. Property values are being boosted by 203(K) loans. Foreclosures have risen in Wexford County, Osceola County and Missaukee.

From July to August foreclosure mortgage rate in North Carolina increased to 83% according to reliable online tracking sources. Dane county foreclosures have made a five fold jump but the state rate is below the national average. The number of foreclosures per household is continues to be less than the countrywide statistics. June this year saw 440 foreclosed units in Dane County as compared to a mere 84 in 2006 during the same month. [...]
