Foreclosures on the Top of Obama’s Agenda

President Barack Obama with his trillions from the treasury has foreclosures on the top of his agenda. He is trying not only to revive the half dead economy but also to make it the forerunner in international politics once more. He repeatedly stresses that America can do it. The new president has bold thoughts and he walks tall dwarfing all others before him and trying to come ahead of him. It is not just empty talk because the support he has of the Democrats in the House and the Senate. After his address to the Senate his popularity has reached an all time high. Thus it seems that in all likelihood he will succeed in getting his budget through.

The international economic and fiscal system although dominated by USA is not a mechanical robot that only America can operate. The global market is a complex and dynamic system always on the verge of losing its equilibrium and balance.

Before the taking of office By Obama, previously the Bush government had already injected into the market $350 from the $700 bailout. But it did not push the system and make it move. The money vanished like sand running through an hourglass. Few weeks ago the Congress gave the green signal to another stimulus package of $787 billion but Wall Street slumped into a greater depression. But Obama is not a man to give up. His speech was awesome. He said, “Even in the most trying times, amid the most difficult circumstances, there is a generosity, a resilience, a decency and a determination that perseveres, a willingness to take responsibility for our future and for posterity.” The opinion polls showed that his popularity had shot up with this speech.

The budget plans that he has are not just about economic plan – it is wide and comprehensive. But the Republicans are sulking and say that there is an underlying subversive agenda. Most Americans have been shocked and dismayed. Some of the Republican governors have openly refused to take part in the jumbo stimulus package. For the democrats it is a great shift in principles from the past – it speaks of a basic change regarding what the people think about the role of the government in the lives of the common people. This will have a tremendous ideological impact on global thinking. President Obama has repeatedly asserted that there is no alternative to good governance.
