Devious are the ways crooks can work! The foreclosure business itself is tainted with dark and to add insult to injury in the name of giving help, so-called prowling helpers are causing further damage.
Foreclosure Solutions has been charged by Legal Aid Society for duping borrowers by four residents of Greater Cincinnati. The firm remained tight-lipped and non-committal. Rick Dom had lost his house, Chennile Kenney and Teddy Helms were not getting the refund they sought for $1,100 and $700 respectively. Gloria Byrd was mentally shattered and physically affected when after relying on the assuring words of “We can help! Guaranteed” she found herself with a foreclosure notice from Wells Fargo. She got back the fees that been advanced for help but by that time her anxiety and depression had led to bleeding ulcers.
Carla Leader of Legal Aid said that these people are now desperate as they had been let down by Foreclosure Solutions in giving them help. Each had paid a fee of $1,150 but to no avail. She stressed the point that it is a signal of warning. Nobody can promise guarantees like that.
Another attorney of Legal Aid, Noel Morgan, said that it was actually a case of ‘civil conspiracy’ against those who are in a desperate corner. Their whole exercise of fixing an attorney, filing an answer and then not following it up is eyewash.
The Operations Manager of Foreclosure Solutions, Pat Earlywine gave an evasive reply saying that the company would take up the matter after reviewing it in details. Earlywine contented that they had not been yet legally served a notice therefore at this juncture it was not possible for them to give a full reply. They are in the dark about the detailed charges in the suit. Earlywine explained that Foreclosure Solutions, with 50 employees had been in business for the last four and a half years. It has a suite of offices on Reed Harman Highway.
Brooking referred to his attorney Geoff Stern in Columbus, questions about involvement with Foreclosure Solutions.
Legal Aid is asking for compensation and damages from Foreclosure Solutions for supposedly misrepresenting themselves. This caused financial losses. Another effect was the emotional distress caused by relying on them to be bailed out of the situation and thus losing out on time, which could have been gainfully employed to get out of the foreclosure jam.
