Foreclosures for sale have become very common in the US. As banks take over the properties, their owners are fleeing them. The vacant properties are an eyesore. Take for instance, the million-dollar spacious home near Windermere. Grass cut from the lawns is lying on a tractor nearby, the sprinklers do not have the necessary attachments and the palm trees are partially dug up.

Inside, the condition is even worse. The kitchen cabinets, appliances, granite table tops are missing. Even the bath tub in the toilet has been taken off. It is not the vandals who are to be blamed. The owners had asked the contractor to take off the precious fittings before the bank could take it over.

The main concern of the Central Florida residents that has been hit by a deluge of foreclosures is not the overgrown lawns but the pitiable state of the houses. Foreclosures are happening at a fast pace, so fast that there are rows of empty homes in one particular locality. In Orange County, deputies have found marijuana plants growing in the backyard of a foreclosed house. In this region, there are rows of empty homes that are disintegrating.

Manny del Valle, owner of Foreclosures Cleanup, says moth grows in the house that is vacant. The company that renovates houses has found dead bees in a carpet. It is so messy that one cannot eve imagine, says Del Ville. Houses start rotting fast. Mosquitoes are found in toilets and dirty water stain the tiles in toilets.

Former owners are sometimes driven by revenge. Del Ville, for instance, has found dead rodents lying in crooks and crannies. It is so awful that it can’t be imagined, says Del Ville. Just because one cannot pay the mortgage amount, it does not mean that he should dirty and leave it.

Houses are also attracting criminal activity. Deputies had found 90 cannabis shrubs growing in a house. In fact, a neighbor had grown suspicious when she had seen men watering potted plants. She immediately complained to the local authorities and arrested two men from the site.

Another couple, the Barrys had purchased a property for an astonishing sum of $1.1 million. The Barrys were not able to pay the loan and subsequently the house was foreclosed. The neighbors found that a contractor was ripping apart the home to take valuable fittings. Now they observe that it will definitely take some time for the house to be restored.
